Hicham ChehouaniLe ChiefBorn in Rabat, the capital of Morocco in Northwest Africa, Chef Hicham Chehouani began cultivating his skills as a chef from an early age, when his family moved to Nice, France, Hicham continued his culinary education, having been a chef on a French cruise ship and entertained guests from around the globe. He has personally created culinary masterpieces for international guests in Spain, Morocco, France, and Malta. As a jack-of-all trades, Chef Hicham has also worked as a model, actor, and a sponsored professional surfer.
Moving to the United States in 2000, he began making crepes and Moroccan kebab. In December of 2009, Hicham opened Crepes de Luxe Cafe on College Street, making a dream of owning his own restaurant a reality. Our hef also been seen at the Iowa City Arts Festival, Iowa City Jazz Festival, wedding and sorority catering, and the Des Moines International Food Festival, where in two days he made more than 1,400 crepes. Chef Hicham Chehouani would encourage customers of all ages to come in, have a cup of coffee, and enjoy the food and atmosphere of Iowa's one and only creperie, Crepes de Luxe Cafe. |
